The conference is organized under the Government of Canada’s Asia-Pacific Gateway and Corridor Initiative and is supported by Transport Canada. The objective of the conference is to bring national and international experience together to bear on the Asia-Pacific Gateway and Corridor concept and to review the implications for transportation and infrastructure policies to realize gateway and corridor related development opportunities.
The International Conference on Gateways and Corridors is addressed to industry and government leaders. More than 30 experts from Canada, the U.S.A, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand will present their views and provide lessons for Canada’s Asia Pacific Gateway in the field of transportation and regional economics and a basis for future policy direction.
The Vancouver conference will be organized around 6 themes that have particular application to measurement of the impact of gateway and corridors and corridors:

- Gateways, corridors and competitiveness
- Supply chains and gateway and corridors
- Gateway Governance and regulation
- Urban Land Use, Gateways and Sustainability
- Security, Risk and information management
