Achim Czerny

Achim I. Czerny is a member of the Workgroup for Infrastructure Policy (WIP) an economic teaching and research unit in the School of Economics & Management at Berlin University of Technology (Germany). His main activities include research in the area of Industrial Organization with focus on transport industries including air, sea, and rail transport markets. Research mostly addresses issues related to utility and competition policy. However, the results can generally also be applied to other infrastructure markets such as energy and telecommunication markets.
He provides teachings in “Transport Economics”, “Infrastructure Economics and Economic Policy“, “Advanced Microeconomics“, and “Game Theory“. Participation in research and consulting projects commissioned, e.g., by government agencies such as the European Commission (Directorate-General Competition) or German Federal Ministries, is also part of his work.
